Anyone who has or has ever owned a blonde cat will tell you that they are anything but ordinary. Without a question, they know exactly how to make themselves stand out, and Tombi is no exception.
Cats are well-known to have a positive reputation in Turkey. There are numerous kittens walking the streets of Istanbul, and there are many interesting stories, such as kittens exploring every part of this metropolis.
Tombi, one of them, and the protagonist of this narrative, happened to arrive by accident at a school. To be more specific, it began in the classroom of some third graders, who had no idea that embracing this one-of-a-kind classmate would become something so remarkable.
Some stray cats can be quite frightened or irritable around humans, but not Tombi. He attended this school in Izmir and felt so at ease there that he decided to make it his new home.
The teacher of this group of youngsters, zlem Pnar Ivaşcu, recalls that when her kids saw Tombi enter, they were intrigued. It might be said that it was love at first sight. The youngsters adored the cat, and he appeared to be at ease among his pals.
However, not everything was as lovely as it seemed. The school administration was not quite sure that having a pet in the classroom was a good idea. They questioned Tombi’s safety and suspected it of spreading illness to pupils.
As a result, they began to urge that Tombi be placed in a more acceptable home. The youngsters were heartbroken at the prospect of having to say goodbye to their beloved pet, but there was no other option. They got the cat a decent home, but then something unexpected happened.
Tombi, who was generally joyful and willing, suddenly stopped eating. He was depressed for three days, so the instructor zlem tried to take him home, where he was also depressed.
However, it wasn’t only Tombi who appeared depressed. The youngsters were likewise saddened by the absence of the cat. Zlem tells us that the cat was never a source of distraction. The presence of the kitten assisted some of the problematic children in better focusing on their assignments and studying.
“When he initially joined our class, I observed a shift in the children’s conduct,” zlem said. They were more cautious and stopped rushing in class. They couldn’t wait to return to school the next day (which is remarkable for some 9-year-olds).
Tombi’s classmates were saddened by the death of their beloved feline buddy and sent messages and pictures when they discovered that their feline friend was not doing well in his absence.
Zlem is a committed educator with a huge heart. So he took it upon himself to see that Tombi was reunited with the children who adored and missed him.
Her tale quickly circulated on social media, and it was quickly picked up by a local news station.
Following all of the controversy, the school administration decided to back down and allow the cat to return “home” to the school where it thought it belonged. They are now a genuinely exceptional bunch of pupils. Tombi included!
