While some individuals find it difficult to assist street animals, the state forbids it. This news, as crazy as it may appear, is true and is being carried out in Santa Catarina, Curitiba, Brazil.
According to the government’s law 217/2019, street animals are not allowed to receive water, food, or any other sort of treatment that would benefit their well-being.
This is undoubtedly incomprehensible, not giving help to helpless dogs and cats or any other animal that needs it is simply unheard of , only beings without good feelings can think of taking a measure that puts the lives of hundreds of innocent little animals at risk.
This is beyond comprehension; not assisting vulnerable dogs and cats, or any other animal in need, is unheard of; only beings devoid of empathy could consider adopting an action that puts the lives of hundreds of innocent small animals in jeopardy.
It is prohibited to assist vulnerable animals on the streets, squares, or any other public area, as stated.
Although this law was passed last year, it was not implemented until this year, and they have began to levy high penalties in order to put pressure on anyone who desires to show sympathy with the street animals. Helping is banned, no matter how much it hurts.
Authorities claim that the elderly and children have been assaulted, which is why they have taken this heinous action.
Fines vary depending on your motivations for assisting the fuzzys. Mrs. Doa Ivanilda Alves was fined $50 for feeding the homeless animals and strolling with them.
In this regard, the lady says:
“What I’ve witnessed is a tragic scenario. The dogs in the area are underweight, hungry, and thirsty. “There is a dearth of vaccination, food, and water, all of which are critical for them, as well as a lack of castration.”
Doa Ivanilda, along with other relatives and neighbors, aided several dogs by feeding them without being seen, but their income has fallen as a result of the epidemic, and they are unable to afford huge fines in such uncertain and tough circumstances.
This new regulation has caused consternation among many who believe that all canines should have equal opportunity and a similar quality of life.
In defense of the stray dogs, the authorities said that they were hostile and posed a threat to the public.
They further mentioned that the secretary of agriculture and environment was rounding up the animals and transporting them to various shelters until they were adopted.
It’s awful that the authorities are willing to go to such lengths to aid these light-filled furry critters that simply want to be loved.
