Giant Lab Befriends Anxious Siamese Kitten And Helps It In Adapting To Its New Forever Home

Another wonderful story demonstrates how a single sweet soul has the power to change the entire life of another creature. Let us introduce you to Betty, a fearful and cranky 5-week-old rescue cat who overcame her fears after becoming friends with Truvy, a yellow lab mix.

Betty was found abandoned and alone and was sent to Jelly’s Place animal rescue in San Pablo, California.

“I volunteer at Jelly’s Place, a non-profit shelter in San Pablo, California. Someone in the neighborhood had discovered her abandoned and taken her in. Kendal Benken, a volunteer at the Jelly’s Place animal sanctuary, told Bored Panda, “Our best estimate is that she was a kitten in a wild colony.”

The kitten was terrified and would not allow anyone to touch her. “At first, she was terrified and hissed a lot. “No one was able to touch her,” Kendal explained. “We couldn’t tell if she was a man or a woman.” She was barely 5 weeks old at the time and had probably never met a person.”

Betty’s faith in Kendal took a long time to earn. To carry her home, she had to drape a towel over the kitty’s head and wrap her in a blanket. “She wasn’t in the least bit pleased. But, to be honest, she was terrified. “The best thing you can do for feral kittens is to place them in the middle of everything and not let them hide,” Kendal said. “So I put her in my kitchen in a huge dog box.” I would cover her in a blanket and rub her head as frequently as I could.”

Kendal’s two rescue dogs soon arrived at Betty’s kennel to inspect the new family member. Despite the fact that the feline wasn’t behaving in the nicest of ways, the dogs were enthralled by her. Especially Truvy, the huge yellow lab mix.

“Truvy is a kitty aficionado!! In a previous life, she must have been a mother cat. When I held her, she was continually kissing her head,” Kendal explained.

Betty gradually came out of her shell over the following few weeks, and after days and days of sincere effort, she eventually welcomed Truvy as a full-fledged friend. “I suppose Betty just accepted it as usual for a large dog to clean you because she was so young.” Betty adored Truvy and would sleep on her whenever she had the chance,” Kendal explained.

Betty gradually evolved into a nice and loving kitty with the support of her foster mom Kendal and her friend Truvy, and was ready to be adopted. “Once Betty got over her fear, she turned into a wonderfully nice, lively kitty.” It was quite difficult for me to let her go. I had a thing for her. Roz, on the other hand, was the ideal match for Betty! We’re still in contact. As a result, I’ve gotten to see Betty grow up,” the woman explained.

She was one of my favorite people. Roz, on the other hand, was Betty’s ideal partner! We keep in touch to this day. As a result, I’ve had the opportunity to see Betty’s development,” the woman explained.
