Ray Vargas claimed to be a dog guy until he heard meowing outside his bedroom window one night. After further inspection, he discovered a little cat with its eyes still closed. “I found him on a wet night, abandoned on the roof of the shed in my backyard,” Ray said. “I just kept following his meowing.”
This abandoned kitten was clearly wailing for his mother, but she was nowhere to be found. Ray felt he had to intervene or the poor creature would perish. “I got up a kitten feeding kit complete with formula and bottle because this little orphan did not enjoy being left out in the weather.”
Ray kept him warm and fed him on a regular basis during the night. Soon, he began to eat more, and Ray’s intense nursing paid off, and this tiny orphan’s future was no longer in doubt.
Bagheera is the name Vargas gave to the kitten, and here he is with his eyes completely open, getting his first genuine look at the world.
He rapidly began following Ray about the house, learning how to climb up onto his shoulder.
He found that his favorite location for a nap was in the arms of the guy who had saved him as he got stronger and older.
Ray is an artist who is soon realizing that working from home is difficult with a cat around! Bagheera is here to lend a helpful hand.
Ray writes, “I had no clue that taking in an abandoned infant out of the storm that night would lead this professed dog guy to buy my very first pet, a cat no less.” “It was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
