When a rescued kitten met another furry one who, like her, had a tumultuous background but had conquered it in the hands of the right people, her life changed drastically.
The kitten, subsequently called Lou, was found on the streets of Montreal, Canada, and was soon taken to the shelter, where she received all of the assistance she need.
Despite her fragile state, the rescue group was able to stabilize her health shortly after contacting Chatons Orphelins Montréal for assistance, who compassionately took care of the kitten.
Celine Crom, a volunteer with a rescue organisation, had this to say about it:
“We continued to keep her warm when she came with us. “His eyes were closed, and he was little more than skin and bones.”
The story of the orphan cat moved everyone on staff; thankfully, it didn’t take long for a shelter volunteer to fall in love with her and adopt her.
Sweet Lou had to be bottle-fed due to her health, and the kitten clung to the bottle like a fighter, seeming content to be in the arms of her carer.
“From the start, his survival instincts were strong. She wailed for her bottle every hour and ate to fill her stomach. “She was always gaining weight,” Celine observed.
Lou was gaining weight and needed a companion with whom she could play, groom herself, and chance stepping out to do cat things.
A litter of kittens was saved shortly after Lou’s arrival; their health was poor, but the rescuers did everything they could to save them. Celine had this to say about it:
“We were worried they wouldn’t make it at first. The antibiotics took a long time to kick in, but once they did, everyone was able to eat alone once more.
There was a kitten named Griotte in the litter who had a severely infected eye but overcame it with all of the care and love she got.
She was ready to socialize with other fluffy pups after her eye healed and she recovered her full eyesight, so Lou was the ideal candidate for the two of them to progressively bond with other kitties.
What the staff didn’t expect was that the two’s bond would be so real that they would express their affection and cooperation practically immediately.
“They followed each other around for the next 24 hours after meeting. They’ve been a tight couple since then, napping, repairing, jogging, and doing everything together “Celine said.
Lou and Griotte were delighted to spend the entire day together; more than friends, they had become lifelong sisters.
These lovely kittens got attached and looked after one another. Celine made the following points in this regard:
“Lou and Griotte are the sweetest couple I’ve ever met. They have opposing personalities, yet they complement one other perfectly.
Both kittens have recovered completely and are now busy exploring their foster home and attracting the attention of their carers. Lou enjoys turning heads, despite the fact that each kitten has an own personality.
“When they want her held, she leaps into her foster mother’s arms.” “She returns to her best feline companion after receiving a few embraces from her human,” Celine explained.
Griotte has taken on the role of big sister and is always looking after her. She also enjoys spending time giving Lou gentle kisses, which has become a daily ritual.
