This Cat Was Abandoned On A Corner In New York With All His Belongings

A cat was abandoned in Brooklyn, New York, and left alone on a corner on Nostrand Avenue with all of its things. His litter box and other belongings were next to him, and the poor cat couldn’t stop sobbing when he realized he was alone in that spot.

On the Facebook page of the Brooklyn rescue group Flatbush Area Team for Cats (FAT Cats), a tragic photo was posted, pleading for their quick rescue, which was no simple task. Nostrand, as the cat was known, vanished shortly after being spotted after being chased away by a street sweeper.

“We’re a close-knit community, and individuals frequently post if they spot an animal in trouble or in need of help,” said Elizabeth Champ, one of Fat Cats’ founders.

Fat Cats commented on Facebook the same day the photo was uploaded, “We’d want to thank our neighbors, many of whom took time out of their day to look for this sad kitty.”

After many days of searching, Nostrand was discovered in the backyard of Karen Oh, a local cat rescuer. “He brought it to us right away to be checked and to see whether he had a microchip,” the rescue organization stated on Facebook. “We are delighted to report that he is a healthy 1-year-old male cat who was not microchipped.”
